Viral Load is a personal piece made in the shadow of the pandemic. It zooms deep into an infected body, where a glowing red virus floats in a dark, cramped space full of swollen cells, slimy strands and thorny growths. The goal was a deliberately uncomfortable atmosphere: something that looks almost beautiful at first glance and then slowly turns your stomach.

Everything in the scene is built to feel wet, soft and slightly wrong. Glossy, mucus-like shaders cover the bulging cell clusters, while dark tendrils and spiked structures close in from every side. Tiny floating particles add depth and make the space feel thick, as if the air itself were contaminated.

Color does most of the storytelling. A cold, desaturated teal fills the environment, and only the virus and the veins reaching toward it glow in an aggressive red. The contrast pulls the eye straight to the threat and keeps it there, like a warning signal in the dark.

A look behind the render: the viewport shows the scene setup in Cinema 4D, from the arrangement of cells and strands to the camera framing that traps the virus at the center of it all.
