Hex Flow
Seven colors, one chrome ball, an endless loop
Hex Flow is a looping 3D animation built around the visible spectrum. Seven glossy ribbons, each labeled with its hex code and numbered from violet 01 to red 07, bend down a slope like a giant rainbow slide. A single chrome ball rolls across them and catches every color in its reflection. The animation loops seamlessly, so the ride never really ends.
The idea was to translate a color palette into something physical. Instead of flat swatches, every color becomes a solid, high-gloss surface that bends, overlaps and reflects its neighbors. The hex codes turn the scene into a playful mix of design tool and sculpture, a color chart you could actually touch.
Shading and light carry the look. Lacquer-like materials and soft studio reflections make each ribbon feel almost wet, while the mirrored ball works as a moving lens that bundles the whole spectrum into one small sphere. The portrait framing keeps the composition tight and lets the ribbons flow through the full height of the image.
Stripped of color, the clay render reveals the pure geometry behind the loop: the curved ribbons, the type set into their surfaces and the path the ball follows down the slope.
