Soft Dose is a personal experiment with physics simulation. Capsules, tablets and a blister pack are thrown together, and a thin, latex-like film closes in around them. As the film contracts it presses everything into one dense, abstract form. Nothing about the final shape was modeled by hand. It came out of the simulation itself.

The core of the project is the simulated membrane. Soft body dynamics let the film tighten around every capsule and edge, so it stretches over hard surfaces and sags into the gaps between them. The result sits somewhere between packaging and something organic, as if the pills had been vacuum-sealed into a living skin.

The goal was to stay abstract without losing visual appeal. A reduced palette of mint, green and white turns a familiar medical subject into a calm and almost playful object. The frosted, semi-translucent shader shows the contents only partly, while depth of field and soft lighting keep the focus on form and color.

Without its materials, the clay render shows the raw outcome of the simulation: every fold, dent and tension line the contracting film left behind.
