Rust, Moss & Stone is a personal photo series shot on a day out in Steyr, Upper Austria. With a Fujifilm X-T30 in hand, the walk led from the riverside forest into the historic old town and moved between two scales: the small details you usually walk past and the architecture that defines the city. The result is a quiet portrait of a place where nature and old stone sit side by side.

The series starts close to the ground. Rusted iron railings, sunlit moss, the first crocuses breaking through last year's leaves and freshly cut fir branches are shot with a shallow depth of field, so the background melts away and only texture remains. Each frame focuses on one small moment of decay or new growth.

Between forest and town, the perspective shifts. A low angle turns an old, moss-covered tree into something monumental, its roots reaching out like it is about to walk away. A short pause by the river captures the tool behind the series, set against the winter light along the water.

The final part moves into the old town. Ornamented facades, cobblestone lanes, an iron lantern against a bright sky, a weathered baroque statue and a long, vaulted arcade fading into darkness. A muted, slightly desaturated color grade ties the architecture together and gives the city a calm, timeless mood.
