Neon Genesis
A tall-format Photoshop collage for Evangelion: a lone Eva unit under a neon moon.
Neon Genesis is a poster-format collage made in Photoshop during the winter semester of 2023, built around a single theme: Evangelion. I stayed close to the series' mood: a still, monumental figure, a cold moon, and a sky that glows in artificial colors.
The Eva unit stands in the center, faceplate glowing violet, with a full moon and a thin neon halo hanging directly above its head, turning the machine into something closer to an icon than a weapon.
The palette stays narrow: a desaturated figure against deep purple, violet the only color that carries light, with drifting particles, embers and fog over a ruined skyline adding weight. Typography carries its own share of the story, a sharp display title fading into the fog alongside a unit designation, a barcode and a scattered grid of crosses, right down to a quote from Exodus 33:20 sitting over the figure's chest. One figure, one light source, one accent color: an early study in building a complete poster from layered photo manipulation. Fan artwork made as a student exercise; Evangelion and its characters belong to their respective rights holders.
