Down the Rabbit Hole
A one-shot animation flying straight through a sci-fi hangar as a mech comes together
Down the Rabbit Hole is a single, unbroken camera move straight through a sci-fi hangar where a mech is mid-assembly: no cuts, just one continuous dolly forward through the scene from start to end. Made during the winter semester of 2024.
The mech combines a handful of hard-surface kit assets with entirely hand-modeled parts; the hangar itself, every gantry, crate and support beam the camera passes, was built from scratch to hold up under one long, uninterrupted take.
Limited rendering power at the time meant the final output never looked quite as polished as the modeling and animation underneath it, but the shot still reads exactly as intended, and it's a piece I'm genuinely happy with.
